Tom Newman
Rev. Tom Newman, pastor of the Shrine of the Master Church of Metaphysical Christianity in Sarasota, Florida, grew up in Tampa, Florida and started attending the Tampa Shrine of the Master at the age of 11 with his mother, two brothers and sister. He studied and attended classes and became a certified healer at the age of 18. In 1978, he moved to Sarasota to become involved with the Sarasota Shrine of the Master. He earned his Ministerial Certificate in 1995 and in September of 1996, became one of two Pastors of the church when Rev. Dorothy, one of the founders of the Shrine, made her transition to Spirit. In June of 2006, he retired from Verizon, formerly GTE, and currently serves as the sole Pastor of the church.
